Midway Mall's 30,000 sq.ft. facility was originally built as an Ethan Allen furniture
store, and Ethan Allen occupied it for 30 years. It is, therefore, nicely laid out as
room settings. The rear portion, originally their warehouse area, is now divided up
into dealer spaces. Midway's layout includes a large, open reception/checkout
area with seating, wide aisles, vending machines, a filtered hot-and-cold water
dispenser, spacious restrooms, a quiet book room, rest area, and reference library.
Midway Mall has a limited dealer count of 100 for quality control and to allow
for uncluttered, aesthetically pleasing dealer displays. The facility includes a
large loading dock and roll-up doors for easy furniture loading and pickup.
Specialty departments include a year-round Sale section, Jewelry Department,
Linens center, separate Vintage Clothing departments for men and women,
and an annual Holiday Department full of vintage merchandise from Halloween
through New Year's Day.
HISTORY OF MIDWAY
Midway Antique Mall opened in January 2006. It was created by, and has been
continuously and solely owned and operated by, Mark and Ann Saunders of
GoogieTime Fabulous Fifties Furnishings. Mark and Ann, with an extensive
background in court reporting in Sacramento, started as antique dealers in 1989,
after years of collecting Victorian and Art Deco furniture and accessories. Since
1999 they have successfully dealt in 1950's, Art Deco, and Mid-Century merchandise
as GoogieTime (featured in the Antique Journal October 2002). They are known
for their commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and authenticity backed
by a money-back guarantee. GoogieTime prior to 2006 operated simultaneously
in three area antique malls and is now exclusive to Midway Antique Mall.
